Yeah, the streets feel incredibly safe.  Partially because there are so many people nothing much is likely to happen.  And partially because the city kinda shuts down after midnite (the subways stop running) so you're never really out late night.
I guess it could be because the population is like 98% Japanese and they're just not that intimidating (except for the giant robots and martial arts)...</description>

They must be from central casting since they seem to be the barkers at clubs -- strip and otherwise-- all over Western Europe, or else ballsy enough to be hawking fake Varsace bags across the street from Versace itself . . .

So, Phil, did you feel safe at night wandering around Japan? I certainly did, since I thought it about as unlikely to be attacked by Japanese while traveling there as I would by Mormons in Salt Lake City . . .
